Mother gets 120 hours in jail after incident involving daughter’s death

The mother whose daughter either jumped or fell from a moving car near Dayton last August has been sentenced in Yamhill County Circuit Court. 50-year old Jennifer Weathers pleaded guilty to one count of driving under the influence in the death of Meighan Cordie. Under a plea bargain agreement, one count of recklessly endangering another person was dropped.
Judge Cynthia Easterday sentenced Jennifer Weathers to 120 hours followed by three years probation. There are a number of provisions that Weathers must comply with, such as participating in a victim’s impact panel, take a high risk driving course, and must have no contact with the victim’s daughter Gia Cordie
