Salem police find developmentally disabled woman

Ms. Novy was located around 7:30am Dec 23, 2018 after a resident found Ms. Novy in the 3200 block of Bell Road SE.  Ms. Novy appears uninjured but has been taken to the Salem Hospital for evaluation.

The Sheriffs’ Office would like to thank all of our volunteer searchers, the Salem Police Department and those residents who kept a watchful eye for Ms. Novy.

Tonight at Deputies began searching for 27 year old, Barbara Novy who walked away from a care home located at 1096 Hoffman Road NE in Salem. Ms. Novy is developmentally disabled and may be apprehensive around men.
 
Ms. Novy is a white female who stands 5’06” tall and weighs 150 lbs. She has short, dark, curly hair and brown eyes. Ms. Novy was last wearing a Navy blue workout style jacket with a pink heart on it, black pants and dark purple Nike shoes. Ms. Novy also has a temporary butterfly tattoo on her left hand.
 
Ms. Novy was last seen leaving the residence around 6:00 p.m. this evening. She was at the residence temporarily and is not familiar with the area. The Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Teams are being activated and we are asking residents in the area to check their properties. If you see or find Ms. Novy please keep her within your sight and call 911.
