Newberg city council agrees to look at longer hours for marijuana dispensaries

with a unanimous vote, the Newberg city council agreed with several dispensary owners to consider allowing those establishments to stay open longer. Currently in Newberg, Marijuana dispensaries can be open until 9am to 8pm.
The vote directs city staff to start gathering information, whcih will be presented to the planning commussion to consider an amendment to the municipal code to conder staying open as late as 10pm. The issue still must be vetted by the planning commission and then will come back before city council again before formally adopted.
City councilors compared it for example to later hours at WAlgreen for patients getting their prescriptions.
