On 10/29/19 at 6:18 am, YCOM began receiving 911 calls reporting a white Toyota Camry driving recklessly in the downtown area of McMinnville.

The callers were reporting excessive speeds of 70 mph and the vehicle was driving the wrong direction southbound on Baker Street.  Moments later a third caller reported the vehicle lost control and crashed into landscaping while traveling the wrong way on Baker Street near Walgreens.

The lone occupant of the vehicle, the female driver, has been identified as a 36 year old Salem resident with ties to McMinnville.  She was transported to the Willamette Valley Medical Center by ambulance for serious injuries sustained in the crash.

Controlled substance intoxication is believed to be a contributing factor and the investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident and have not spoken to an officer are asked to contact the police department at 503 434-7307.   We would also like to hear from anyone who may have dash cam or surveillance footage of the Toyota Camry prior to or during the crash.  Case # 19-4198
