Yamhill County robotics team undefeated after day one at World competition in Houston

The “herd” is doing well. Yamhill County’s Nerdherd have scored four wins, zero losses and zero ties after the first day of competition in the FRC World Robotics Competition in Houston Texas.

Ethan Hanson, lead programmer, is providing updated reports on the KLYC Event Cast channel on line at KLYCMEDIA.com Listen for reports.
Hanson says the team is feeling very good. Despite receiving ten penalty points, the NerdHerd was able to set a record in the second round with 100 points in match 21.   The previous record was 80 points in the preceding match

In Match 28, they did very well. it was a low powered match, they won with average score of 66. Hanson admits if they other teams had been able to climb their robot they may have lost the match, but they still put one in the winning bracket.

Match 37 was the last match of the day. They won with 69 points. Hanson says this is a huge accomplishment for the NerdHerd. More updates coming tomorrow (Friday, April 19th)
