MCMINNVILLE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES DOWNTOWN

MCMINNVILLE, OR: June 25. McMinnville Downtown Association is kicking off the 4th annual summer music series known as Concerts on the Plaza Thursday July 11. The 8-week music series runs Thursday evenings from 6-9pm July 11-August 29, 2019 at the US Bank Plaza on 3rd & Davis street in historic downtown McMinnville.

The Thursday evening concerts are free and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $5. The all-ages concert will have a wine & beer garden with a rotating selection of breweries and local wineries each week as well as food trucks and pop ups from local eateries. The beer/wine garden will open at 6pm and music will start promptly at 7pm.

This summer concert series is made possible by sponsors: Citizens Bank, First Federal, J.L. Kiff Vineyard, Nectar Graphics, Oregon Health Insurance Marketplace, Ticor Title, and Allegory Brewing.

Zack Geary, the Concerts on the Plaza Co-chair said “With musical acts ranging from psychedelic ladies to saxophone gods, this year’s Concerts on the Plaza line-up is jam-packed with old favorites, new-to-you-sure-to-be-old-favorites-next-year, and everything in between. We are excited to offer up a diverse line up of bands who will keep you moving and grooving all summer in downtown McMinnville.”

The 2019 Concerts on the Plaza line up:

July 11- Blackwater Holylight

July 18- The Builders and the Butchers

July 25- Bitches of the Sun

August 1- Black and Blue

August 8- The Mondegreens

August 22- The Resolectrics

August 29 Erisy Watt.

 

Volunteers are needed to make this community event a success, and we encourage anyone interested to sign up at macdowntown.com/volunteer or to contact the McMinnville Downtown Association.

With the hope of promoting free summer entertainment in the downtown area to a larger, more diverse audience, the McMinnville Downtown Association and City of McMinnville Parks & Recreation Department are collaborating on promoting each other’s concerts. The City’s concerts begin on Tuesday, July 16 at Linfield and then move to City Park the following Tuesday, July 23. MDA’s concerts begin on Thursday, July 11, on Davis Street near US Bank Plaza.  For more information on the free Tuesday concerts please contact the Parks & Rec Department at 503.464.7369.
