DOWNTOWN MAC IS A QUIETER PLACE OVERNIGHT DURING THE WEEKENDS
Downtown McMinnville seems to be a quieter place overnight during the weekends. At least that’s according to pastors who have been spending the last year and a half trying to be a calming influence.
Dr. Jason Willoughby of Reach the City Ministries is one of the pastors who takes a shift on the night walks. He told Yamhill County Commissioners they are seeing better behavior. He says it’s been a year and a half since the last fight in the overnight hours.
McMinnville Police have also stepped up their presence in the downtown core in that time frame, and it appears all the efforts may be paying off.
