American Legion National Commander visits McMinnville

AMERICAN LEGION NATIONAL COMMANDER VISITS YAMHILL COUNTY

The National Commander of the American Legion is in Yamhill County this weekend. He is attending the Winter Quarter Department Executive meeting in McMinnville. Commander Brett Reistad will participate in closed meetings of the leadership, as well as training for local Legion officers.

District officers will vote Sunday on the Legion’s position on various issues. On Saturday night, Jan 19, 2019 at 7pm, the American Legion Post 21 in McMinnville will hold a banquet at the post in McMinnville, 126 NE Atlantic Street. Our understanding is there are no more tickets available for the banquet.

There are 2.5 million members of the American Legion in the United States. In Oregon, the membership is divided 120 post in ten districts. There are 17 posts in District Two including McMinnville.
