Yamhill County Emergency Management Launches Emergency Notification System

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS SYSTEM UNTIL FRIDAY, DEC 15TH AFTER 1PM WHEN IT BECOMES ACTIVE

On Friday, December 15, 2017, at 1:00 pm, Yamhill County Emergency Management will launch a new emergency notification system.  The name of the system is Yamhill County Alerts.  Yamhill County Alerts has the ability to notify residents in the event of emergency, and will instruct residents on actions to take, if needed.  Alerts can be countywide, or scaled down to cover a smaller geographical area.

Yamhill County Alerts is a web-based program that allows residents to opt-in, where the resident selects the notification path right for them.  The program can send text messages and emails, make phone calls to both landline and cell phones, or notify through the Everbridge Mobile Safety app.  Residents who need TTY/TTD services have the option to sign up for notifications through those avenues.

The use of Yamhill County Alerts is for emergency notifications.  Use is limited to those incidents where notifying the public is necessary.  Notifications include, but are not limited to severe weather warnings, flooding, wildland fire near homes or neighborhoods, evacuations, shelter in place warnings, and hazardous materials incidents.  We all hope there is no need to use it, but in the event we do, we want notifications to be effective.

Signing up is easy.  Follow the link and create a profile.  By creating a profile residents are automatically signed up for emergency notifications, and they can opt-into specific municipalities for notifications that are not time sensitive or life threatening.  Residents can enter up to five addresses to receive notifications to include home, work, school, or daycare.  We encourage residents to share this information with friends and families throughout the County.

To sign up, please visit the Yamhill County Emergency Management link below.  You will have access to frequently asked questions and a link directly to the login page.  Yamhill County Emergency Management does not maintain or have access to login or password information.
